A Glimmer of Hope in the Orange County Real Estate MarketCategory: Real Estate | Permalink Published: Tuesday, October 27, 2009 Just last week an Orange County waterfront home sold for more than it had five years ago in 2004. Granted the previous owners got an amazing deal when the house was purchased for $2,500,000 in 2004. But this Davenport Island home in Huntington Harbour just sold for $2,800,000. This breathtaking three story English Tudor-style house is 4,356 square feet of pure bliss situated on a main channel with gorgeous sunset views. What makes this home even more special is the fact that it is one of about ten homes or fewer that boast 3 stories in the Huntington Harbour due to height restrictions. In this particular market this latest price tag reflects a short supply. There are very few homes on the market with this sort of water frontage and square footage on top of the fact that the previous owners have all kept up with it impeccably. Plus what adds to the homes' charm is the fact that this home has become somewhat of a pop culture landmark, with pirates that go back a couple owners and that will once again stay as part of the house. Hopefully this is a sign that the Orange County real estate market is on its way up. Of course only time will tell, but there's no reason why we can't keep our fingers crossed.
